Mario T. Lanza

Mario is a boardgame enthusiast living in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. Although he has reached the adult age of 34, he remains a kid at heart. His favorite pastimes include playing boardgames (tank on FULL), reading (on HALF), and watching movies (on EMPTY). Most of his reading fodder is non-fiction related to church, personal growth or career growth (technology). His bedside table has at least 5 books at any time. He is almost always up for playing games with friends. He is a Christian and considers pleasing God one of life’s foremost purposes.

MarioHe hosts games every other Monday at his home and convenes Boardgamers’ Pastime meetings at the local library on odd Sundays. He most enjoys trying new games and introducing people to them. As such, a sizeable percentage of the games he owns will have been played one or zero times. He attends two cons each year–The Gathering of Friends (April) and The World Boardgaming Championships (August). With the massive collections brought by gamers from around the world, The Gathering has become his golden opportunity to try new games.

He has made a career of writing software for businesses, and recently took a strong interest in developing web sites. He always has more on his plate than he can realistically do. For this reason, procrastination and daydreaming are favorite preoccupations. Someday he looks forward to trading in a decent income to become a starving game publisher. He is convinced this will be his best attempt at dieting.

He enjoys Smallville and is probably as taken by Lana Lang as Clark is. He limits himself to one video tape of TV watching a week. He appreciates aesthetic beauty in all things and considers living a simple life a worthy pursuit. Though not for his singing ability, he was named after a famous Italian tenor from Philadelphia. He enjoys all sorts of creative endeavors ranging from writing to graphic arts.

Because each day comes with great anticipation, falling asleep can be difficult. So much to do, so many games to play…
